Countdown to Comicpalooza!

It’s almost dinner time, ladies and gentlemen and others, and I’m looking forward to tacos with a little hot sauce as I get my bags packed for a two-night stay in Downtown Houston for Comicpalooza.

The doors open at 2 PM tomorrow at the George R. Brown Convention Center, but my hotel starts check-in at 3 PM. Once I have myself settled in my room, I’ll arrive fashionably late and head to the dealer’s floor to look for collectibles and gifts before heading to the Star Wars Alliance Stage and taking in the 501st Legion, an elite group of Stormtrooper Cosplayers who build their own costumes and work with hospitals and charities. There will be book signings, live podcasting, anime trivia, and then my evening caps off with a live riffing of the “Alan Smithee” 1984 production of Dune, courtesy of Sassterpiece Theater!

Above all, I will be on the hunt for the most awesome costume in all of Comicpalooza!

I will update periodically throughout the day tomorrow as I weave my way through the crowds and explore the far reaches of Houston’s number one comic book convention!
